FULL DAY SAMPLE CLASS COLOUR FOR LANDSCAPES PAINTING CLASS

Times 5hours – studio 1030-1pm theory, 2-430pm painting outside – weather allowing

COLOUR – watercolour : how to work with this wonderful medium, colour theory – to how to create depth using colour in a landscape composition. Introduction to colour theory, using water based media,  compostition theory: vanishing points, the rule of 1/3’s and principal of golden section. Weather allowing, the afternoon session will take place outside, on the Tarka Trail – the studios are moments from the river and historic railway line walk way.

Materials please bring along: an HB / H pencil,  small set of basic watercolours, large and small soft wash brushes, heavy cartridge – or selection of watercolour papers, any water based medium will work for this session – watercolour (or acrylic / water based oils) 2 yellows, 2 reds, 2 blues, and black as minimum, and a pallet for mixing on, small jam jars avialable to borrow  – materials are avaialable to buy in the studio.

Full day class £90 – bring you rown materials.

This can be ruduced to a half day session – 2 and 1/2 hours, first half in the studio, intro to colour theory, composition in landscape, then weather allowing paintingoutsite en plein air painting on the Tarks Trail – either 1030-1pm or 2pm-430pm, the afternoon is lovely on the trail in the summer months.
